Introducing the FRACC Art Department: Connecting Local Artists to Fall River’s Future

Fall River is growing, changing, and investing in its future. FRACC believes our local artists should be part of that future. The FRACC Art Department is the next evolution of our Artist Recovery Program, expanding our work from supporting individual artists to actively connecting Fall River’s creative community with opportunities in public art, placemaking, development, and private projects throughout the city and the greater Southcoast.
When Fall River invests in a place, we should also invest in Fall River’s creative people.
FRACC is developing a roster of local artists, makers, designers, fabricators, performers, and other creative professionals that can serve as a resource for developers, businesses, property owners, municipal partners, and community organizations seeking local creative talent.
The roster will highlight Fall River artist’s work and areas of expertise, but also relevant professional experience, certifications, insurance, specialized training, and the ability to work on public or commercial projects. This allows FRACC to make direct referrals when opportunities arise. The FRACC Art Dept. will also present paid opportunities to be trained on a multitude of projects from murals and public installations to arts management, project management, interior artwork, fabrication, design, performances, creative placemaking, and more.
The FRACC Art Dept. is about more than referrals.
It is about advocacy.
As new housing, businesses, public spaces, infrastructure, and major development projects reshape Fall River, FRACC wants arts and culture considered early in the conversation—not as decoration added at the end, but as an important part of how places are designed, experienced, and remembered.
We want developers to know the extraordinary creative talent that already exists here. We want artists to understand how to prepare themselves for larger professional opportunities. And we want more of the investment happening in Fall River to circulate back into the hands of the people who make this city culturally distinctive.
FRACC exists to advocate for, support, connect, and amplify our creative arts community.
The FRACC Art Department is building a bridge between Fall River’s artists and Fall River’s development.
Because as our city builds its next chapter, its artists should help shape what it looks and feels like. When Fall River invests in a place, we should also invest in Fall River’s creative people.
